Craving Chicago Style pizza

Someone mentioned deep dish here on my team and now darnit I am craving it big time.

I have been meaning to get to our local Chicago style eatery in the past month but haven't done so....anyone who has had a long lasting craving knows of the exquisite agony you face mentally, psychologically, physically...you get the picture. I am just punishing myself writing my craves down.......sigh

Maybe this weekend. Oh yeah!

Mom is getting ready to jet off to Puerto Rico

The picture I have included here found on the Wiki is where my dad proposed to my mom. I have been to this park many times growing up. Mom and Dad were married on April 16, 1966 and will be celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.
Mom's flight leaves in half an hour from Chicago to San Juan...will take about 7 hours to get there. Leaving gray cold skies to the balmy breezes of the Caribbean. Ponce's shores lies on the edge of the Caribbean ocean. I remember growing up playing in its salty recesses at La Guancha. A beautiful place for families. Well, at least it was when I was a child. It has become more developed since then and though does have some issues with reckless youth I still find it a nice retreat for the most part:
From the Wiki:
Ponce (IPA [ponse]), officially the Autonomous Municipality of Ponce, is a municipality of Puerto Rico located in the Southern Coastal Plain region of the island, south of Adjuntas, Utuado and Jayuya; east of Peñuelas; and west of Juana Díaz. It has a total of 19 wards, including the historic Ponce Pueblo (the downtown area of the city).
Ponce, the second largest city in Puerto Rico outside of the San Juan metropolitan area,[1] is named after Juan Ponce de León y Loayza, the grandson of Spanish conquistador Juan Ponce de León. It is located a few miles from the Caribbean coastline of the island. Ponce is often referred to as La Perla del Sur (The Pearl of the South) and La Ciudad Señorial de Puerto Rico (Majestic city of Puerto Rico).

The concept of marriage

Another interesting discussion on English Sabla. I am going to have to put a new category for this because I reference the site allot. I believe as Jeff does regarding the sacrament of marriage. For me is more than just an "institution" but a blessing:

Marriage is marriage. If you have trouble with your son, he is still your son. If you have trouble with your husband, he is still your husband.Like I said, that can bring tragedy sometimes. But so can the opposite. For every marriage in which someone suffers because of having a bad partner, there are ten in which people suffer because of having their spouse abandon them. Or that's how it seems to me.The solution is to love more and to trust God.We don't look at marriage as a "situation" to be "rectified". We look at it as a Sacrament, a spiritual reality that we cannot change. If I am One with someone, then I am One. That is all there is to it.

Support your local VFW. Especially now with a country at war it is important to give a little to places such as these. They do not receive any tax dollars. They help fund programs for veterans and assist those who are in need.

Overtime and calculating when it is a profit...or not

One thing I have learned about overtime...though the hours can be nice you have to think about when does it not become a profit for you? Meaning, at one point does all that money (ok...just some of it) goes into Uncle Sam's fat pocketbook? You have to calculate when all those vested hours become wasted simply because you are not going to get a greater return on your time invested. I learned that the hard way when a third of my overtime pay was taken out for taxes.

Overtime has been offered for these next two weeks and I must say it has come at a critical time when I have my plates due along with property taxes for this car of mine. I am ever so grateful for my new car I just do not see the point in paying property tax every year when it is not a house or land.

I will have to ensure I don't burn myself out thinking I will get a greater return in my next paycheck. Have to keep my enthusiasm in check. :^)

Sorry for the transfer

For my readers sorry for transferring back to this. Sucks to lose the other format but at the same time I am trying to figure out how to make my blog more presentable until the time comes I can afford to buy my own domain name.
