TOPIC: Gov. Blunts? Immigration Directives ____________________________________________________________
Hispanic Leadership Group will host a panel discussion by Police Chiefs of the Greater St. Louis area disclosing their views and response to the recent mandate by Governor Matt Blunt for police officers to serve as immigration enforcement officers. The Governor directives call for state law enforcement officers to check the immigration status of every person stopped for an alleged traffic infraction and/or presented for incarceration. The HLG believes that an awareness of one's surrounding and the issues at hand should benefit our area's Hispanic population as well as the general community.
